Coolsculpting is an FDA-cleared procedure for shaping specific areas of the body, like the belly, hips, or back. This non-invasive procedure helps you conquer those stubborn fat deposits that exercise and aesthetic treatments can’t quite get rid of and it does it without surgery or scars.

How Coolsculpting Works

The Coolsculpting process freezes fat cells, so that your body can process and eliminate them entirely. The Coolsculpting cooling device is FDA-cleared and features built-in safety measures that will automatically shut the system down to prevent injury in case it detects that a patient’s skin is becoming too cold. The goal is to cryogenically freeze and kill the fat cells beneath the skin, without affecting the skin itself. This process is called cryolipolysis and Coolsculpting is an established leader in the field of cryolipolysis treatment. Coolsculpting is effective for both men and women and has been successfully performed on more than six million patients worldwide.

Cryolipolysis and Coolsculpting are based on sound proven science which have been subject to peer-review in more than 100 medical publications. Don’t trust your health and appearance to fads or pseudo-science. Take your time to research Coolsculpting for yourself, and you’ll learn why the process is trustworthy, safe, and effective.

What you can Expect
Throughout the Process

When you come to Eko Plastic Surgery for Coolsculpting, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Eko, who is a board-certified plastic surgeon with family and personal ties to the Coachella Valley. Our Rancho Mirage practice is dedicated to helping patients achieve physical and mental well-being and confidence through improving and restoring their best, most natural-looking appearance, as well as their most functional physical form. Coolsculpting is an excellent solution for many patients, but in certain cases, it will not achieve the results a patient wants or needs, and the initial consultation is when Dr. Eko will evaluate your specific needs and health to make sure you’re a good candidate for the best results with Coolsculpting.

Coolsculpting involves no needles, anesthesia or surgery. The most simple explanation is that the machine is carefully guided by a thoroughly trained and certified specialist. It then uses vacuum pressure to pull the skin and underlying fat into the vacuum cup, then begins the precise process of Cryolipolysis: killing. It then starts killing the subcutaneous fat cells by freezing them, while protecting and preserving other types of cells.

You may feel some tugging at the skin or mild discomfort during the procedure, but most patients are able to read, relax or enjoy listening to music throughout their procedures. Typically, a Coolsculpting procedure lasts an hour or less, though some patients may need more than one procedure to accomplish the look they want.

Permanent Results

Once the fat cells die, the body eliminates them over the following months and they’re gone for good. Because your body’s normal metabolic processes do the work by removing the fat cells and filtering out any toxins they may contain through the lymphatic system. Your health is protected naturally throughout the process and once your body finishes its “clean-up” work, those fat cells are permanently removed. The Coolsculpting applicator is designed to protect your skin as it attacks the fat underneath, so there’s no risk of burns or scars as there can be with heat-based fat removal methods.
